The last 2022 market

It was a Christmas day actually with this nice atmosphere and we were happy to have another opportunity to go to Les Temps des Cerises again. We do not make much of advertising and the shop either as far as we know and it is kind of nice feel that our customers are people who just happened to have the idea to pop in to make their shopping and some people who visit our blog or learned by the word of mouth from somebody in the shop.

I had some lovely new spoons for sale and we have finished more bowls since we sold quite a few at the previous market on the boat. One of them was the biggest bowl i have ever made by the way 🙂 Just i had forgotten a bag with finger spoons this time. They are favourites of us, little cute things fans and spice jars maniacs. That means the collection will grow and we will have more to offer next time though.

There is a lot more exciting work ahead for me. For the next year I want to offer some of the things we are using at home and bring some inspiration.

I am looking forward to being able to offer some workshops for everybody who would like to make his or her experience with carving and a course for people more interested in carving and greenwoodworking. For that we have already improved our little spot in the woods by buying 3 tarps – one for the lathe, one for the area around the chopping block and one for larger shelter where a group of 3-4 people could gather protected from a rain. I want to thank all of you who are supporting us on this path simply by buying a spoon or a bowl. It was all money from selling the treens that allowed us to move on another step in direction towards establishing a real greenwoodworkers workshop in the woods. We have spend a lot of time working on that giving up making money for living elsewhere this year but, apart from having the tiny sheltered spaces there, it is just taking outlines and exists mostly in my imagination. But we believe it is worth it and we keep on making it better for the next season. I will announce an invitation for the first workshop here on the blog of course.
