I am interested in carpentry for nearly 25 year. I went through different experiences where i was just learning – installations, interior work, lot of work on my own projects where i spent huge amounth of time learning to work with handtools i could not see in use otherwise. Since 2013 i have been self employed travelling through projects of other carpenters as a member of the crew – hewing beams, framing traditional timbered houses and learning to restore historical objects, in 2018 i got professional licence continuing with hewing, restoring and framing smaller structures. All the time i am learning to do things that nowadays would fall into joinery/cabinetry or renovation as i see that knowledge important when it is not anymore common thing to see craftsmen from nearby doing this and is quite rare to meet folks like that. It’s brought to me broader knowledge about working the wood and ability to combine the skills. I went into japanese carpentry because i was also amazed by the quality of work but also it meant that i could travel with few more tools in my backpack (yes, no car :)) as japanese tools are generally smaller and of very good quality. Japanese also have excellent sharpening stones and for instance sharpening is extremely important skill we need either doing carving, carpentery or joinery/cabinetry. I am very interested in making more experiences in these area of woodworking as for me it is an ideal combination with greenwoodwork and carving (not a production style). I am looking forward to some bigger construction job to put in use what i have learned so far. I can offer quite unbeatable price and versatile skill to complete a project for you but of course to be my customer people need to realize the value, advantages and disadvantages of handmade style created objects to spend their money consciously and avoid surprises. My work typically depend on a good will of the investor to deliver the lumber and let me stay on site. Once we agree on work and conditions i dedicate myself to suggest a design that fits the space/ landscape/ style/ tradition and work with a great sense for detail and the best results. If you would consider the examples of my work (to be also updated continuously) interesting enough to invite me to restore parts of a house, frame a structure for your garden or house or hew beams for another project, please, contact me.
